Traffic police conducted a special drive in Begumpet metro station along with TV9. He said that this year more than three lakh cases have been registered against motorists without helmets and more than 1600 cases have been registered as part of the special drive.
Road accidents happen frequently in Hyderabad city. Many people lose their lives in these road accidents. Police investigations revealed that driving on the wrong route is the main cause of road accidents, especially not wearing a helmet. In this background, traffic police are conducting special drives. Around 1600 cases have been registered in the special drives of the traffic police which started on the 5th of this month.
Traffic police conducted a special drive in Begumpet metro station along with TV9. During these inspections, hundreds of two-wheeler riders were found riding without helmets. Traffic DCP Rahul counseled motorists traveling without helmets on the road. Traffic DCP Rahul Hegde told TV 9 that there are more cases of death due to helmet or severe head injuries in such road accidents. He said that this year more than three lakh cases have been registered against motorists without helmets and more than 1600 cases have been registered as part of the special drive.
Rahul Hegde checked two-wheelers who were traveling without helmets at Begumpet metro station. More than 100 two-wheeler riders were not wearing helmets and were kept on the road and counselled. Everyone should follow the traffic rules. There have been many incidents of road accidents due to some people not wearing helmet even if they keep it. Traffic DCP said that if they do not wear a helmet, they will be fined 200 rupees and if they go on the wrong route, they will be fined 1000 rupees. Motorists are advised to take adequate precautions to avoid accidents.
