Hyderabad: Giving a political twist to Monday’s attack on Vikarabad Collector Prateek Jain at Lagacherla, Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Tuesday alleged that the BRS was obstructing welfare and development programmes in the State and announced that a detailed enquiry would be conducted to expose the people behind the incident.
Claiming that it was a planned attack, the Minister alleged that initially, farmers and villagers were obstructed from reaching the public hearing venue in the village. Later, they were instigated to attack the Collector and Kodangal Area Developement Authority officer, he alleged.
Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, the Minister said a comprehensive enquiry would be conducted on the political motive behind the attack and the people involved. This apart, the failure of the intelligence and police departments would also be probed and action would be initiated accordingly, he said.
Accusing the BRS of creating hurdles in welfare and development, the Minister alleged that even establishment of industries in the State was being obstructed by the party.
“Right from the first day that the Congress came to power, the BRS has been obstructing the welfare and development programmes. They even tried to obstruct Group I examinations,” Sridhar Babu alleged.
Stating that if anyone tried to attack government staff and machinery and create law and order issues, it would not be tolerated, the Minister also held a meeting with Collector Prateek Jain, IG Satyanarayana, SP Narayana Reddy and others at the Secretariat on Monday’s incident.
